CHOUCHOU 70 | Lampshade | Handmade Washi Lamp

Created using ultra thin washi known as Tengu Chou-shi from Kochi Prefecture.  With the sheets of paper puffed up in a ball, it has a look of elegance and refinement, while also warm and softness.

This versatile shade can be used in a traditional Japanese style room, or blend seamlessly into Japandi, Zen, Scandinavian, minimalism interior, soft contemporary, or other nature-inspired styles.

Wabi-sabi is the Japanese appreciation of beauty in imperfection and impermanence.  It values natural textures, subtle irregularities, and the passage of time.  Handmade washi embodies this aesthetic through its visible fibers, gentle variations, and organic details shaped by the maker’s hands and the seasons.
