Washi (Japanese paper) lampshade featuring free-form diagonal lines and water drop design, and a handcrafted mahogany wood frame with a cross bottom stand.

The wabi-sabi aesthetics of washi creates a soft, diffused light perfect for bedrooms, living areas, or any space where you want to add warmth and a sense of serenity.

This table lamp can accentuate a traditional Japanese style room, or blend seamlessly into Japandi, Zen, Scandinavian, minimalism interior, soft contemporary, or other nature-inspired styles.

Wabi-sabi is the Japanese appreciation of beauty in imperfection and impermanence.  It values natural textures, subtle irregularities, and the passage of time.  Handmade washi embodies this aesthetic through its visible fibers, gentle variations, and organic details shaped by the maker’s hands and the seasons.

Product Details

This piece, from the paper to the wood frame of the final product, was handmade by washi artist Yuki Yoshimura in Fukuoka, Japan.

This product is the shade and frame only, lighting component not included.  If you like the rope cord light fixture pictured, you can purchase it through our website here.  We will include it in the same shipment, for easy set up.  Just insert and screw on.
